1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using the HalalFolio application ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you are prohibited from using the Service.

2. Not Investment Advice

HalalFolio is an educational research and visualization tool. We explicitly DO NOT provide:

• Personalized investment recommendations or advice
• Buy, sell, or hold signals for any security
• Suitability assessments based on your individual circumstances
• Tax, legal, or accounting advice
• Guarantees of investment performance or returns

Any portfolios, projections, or analysis displayed are hypothetical educational examples based on historical data. You should consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or legal counsel before making any investment decisions.

3. No Performance Guarantees

All financial projections shown in the application are forward-looking estimates based on historical data. Past performance is not an indicator of future results. All investments involve risk, including the possible loss of principal. Historical returns displayed are for educational illustration only and do not represent actual investment results.

4. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You acknowledge that you are using this tool to aid your own research, not as a substitute for professional advice. Any investment decisions you make are entirely your own responsibility.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• No Liability for Investment Losses: We are not liable for any financial losses you incur from investment decisions, regardless of whether you used information displayed in HalalFolio.
• No Guarantee of Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that data, projections, or halal screenings are complete, current, or error-free.
• Third-Party Data: We rely on third-party data sources (including EODHD). We are not responsible for errors in third-party data.
• Aggregate Liability Cap: Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 CAD.
• No Consequential Damages: We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HalalFolio and its creators, officers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party rights, or (d) any investment decisions you make.

7. Halal Screening Disclaimer

HalalFolio screens investments based on commonly accepted halal criteria. However, interpretations of Sharia principles vary among Islamic scholars. We do not provide religious rulings (fatwas) and are not a Sharia Supervisory Board. You should consult your own qualified Islamic scholar for personal religious guidance on investment permissibility.
